  How would you feel about this and would you steps to change the situation

  next week i am having surgery at the local hospital .

  one of my old jw 'friends ', that no longer considers me worthy of even a hello ,is a surgical tech there .. would you take steps to ask she not be on the operating team ?

  it was brought to my attention today that i do have the right to ask for that person not to be present because of personal issues .. what would you do ?

  Just an update on my surgery : Everything went better than I could have imagined ! The staff was excellent . I was so nervous ,but they were so understanding and supportive that It made this the easiest surgery I have ever had . There was no run in with the JW tech which was a relief, and everyone else could not have been nicer .

  I had a torn meniscus in my knee, and had arthoscopic surgery to remove the torn piece . I had been in pain for over four months with this, and was to the point of tears most days from the pain . After surgery I was able to walk out of the hospital after only a couple of hours of recovery .Only two days of pain pills ,and by 48 hrs was feeling pretty much pain free . The knee is a little swollen still ,and I can not bend it completely , but I am doing physical therapy and hope to have full motion in a few weeks .

  If you are suffering from this kind of pain ,please do not put off surgery out of fear .I wish I had done this months ago ! I have two tiny incisions with a total of four stitches absolutely no bruising and only some swelling . I have been good to keep it elevated and LOTS of ice on it to reduce the swelling .

  P.S. The staff was entertained by me in recovery ...evidently when I awoke from the Anethstisia I sang to everyone and told them how much I love them ..

  My new NORMAL frienda have taught me all the 'rules' about holiday decorating (even though I told them I never play by the rules ) Christmas trees traditionally go up the day after Thanksgiving . In cold climates it is wise to put your outside lights up early November whenever you still have warm enough days ,but you are not 'suppose' to turn them on until after Thanksgiving . Lights go off again 1st week of January ,but as I said before WHo follows silly rules ,I have left ours on until Feburary then just left the red ones on until Valentines Day !

  I love lights Congrats on getting yours up early ENJOY !! This year my husband is going to work on syncronized lights to music .

  being an adult, i choose not to attend the meetings.

  i would prefer my children not attend meetings, however being married to a diehard jw, this is difficult to accomplish.

  the kids do not want to attend, as the meetings are boring, as they have often said.

  Painted Toe Nail ......You are a parent too in this household . Your husband does NOT have the exclusive right to force religion on the children, you may have been raised a JW to believe this bs ,however untrue . He is not the HEAD of the household ,you are equal partners .Why can you not decide that if that do not want to attend then it is okay to stay home ,period . Stand up to this guy ...

  One day your children are going to wonder why you did not stand up to Dad ,and protect their personal rights .Does it seem selfish to them that you get to stay home yet they get no personal choice ? You may think it is just firming their resolve to hate meetings ,but be careful it doesn't backfire and they begin to resent you.

  Our First Halloween

  (i grew up in the "truth".

  ) very risky, considering we are still active in the cong..... so we started at the first house and methodically walked up and down each driveway as worked along the street.. we were quickly over-taken by kids who were zig-zagging across lawns and doing houses in random order.

  suddenly, it dawned on me.

  I enjoyed your story ! We have gone over the top this year for Halloween . My husband designed a Halloween light and music show for our yard and we advertized it on a facebook page . He had his picture on the front page of the local newspaper ....All this from the guy that teased me when we faded for being 'evil' and celebrating Christmas , now everyone will think I corrupted him into holidays

  But seriously ,isn't it so much FUN to see the little kids at your door dressed up ? We sure missed out with our children . I am happy for you that you are able to do these things with your kids while they are young and build some great memories for them .

  Jadeen ,I realize her what her job duties are ,and I still do not want her in my room ....at all . In our small town (and old Hall ) I have seen how medical confidentiality rules get broken with in the JW circle .

  Thanks AudeSapere, I am trying to be health conscious and eating right . I have high blood pressure so I am watching caffine intake and sodium . I get very anxious over medical procedures ....this time it is pretty minor ,but still being put out creeps me out .
